On the 25th of August, 2023 Raksha-Bandhan was celebrated at GTU-Graduate School of Engineering in the presence of respected Director Sir S. D. Panchal, our faculty members, fellow students, and respected didi from BrahmaKumaris. Raksha-Bandhan, the cherished festival celebrating the bond between siblings, brings an air of warmth and togetherness to our college campus each year. First, the respected Director sir gave a brief speech on the festival's importance from a historical point of view.
Students from various backgrounds come together on this special occasion to partake in the traditional rituals. Then respected Vecna Didi gave a speech on the spiritual meaning behind all the rituals followed by Hindus in Raksha-Bandhan Sisters lovingly tie intricate Rakhis, around their brothers' wrists, symbolizing their deep-seated bond of protection and care. In return, brothers offer heartfelt promises to shield and support their sisters throughout their lives. The celebration is not limited to blood relations, friends also exchange Rakhis, transcending the confines of family and fostering a sense of unity among all Lastly, respected Nisha Didi guided everyone in meditation sessions where imagination and visualization of the peers were used to meditate. It truly lifted up the spirit of attendees and created a positive atmosphere.
The atmosphere is vibrant with laughter, camaraderie, and a deep sense of connection Through this celebration, our college not only upholds the cultural significance of Raksha-Bandhan but also promotes the values of love, respect, and solidarity among its diverse student body. As the celebrations draw to a close, the threads of the Rakhis remain as tangible reminders of the bonds we share, inspiring us to nurture and protect these relationships in the journey ahead.
