To seek the blessing of Lord Krishna, Janmashtami was celebrated on the 6th of September ,2023 at GTU-Graduate School of Engineering and Technology in the presence of respected Director Sir S.D Panchal, faculty members and fellow students . Janmashtami is celebrated and observed on the eighth day (Ashtami) of the dark fortnight (Krishna Paksha) in Shravana Masa at the auspicious event of the birthday of Lord Krishna, the eighth incarnation of lord Vishnu. In old times, this day indicated hope that the venomous rule of injustice and adharma would end soon.
Krishna janmashtami signifies excitement , bliss and elation. It brought faithfulness, devotion ,enjoyment and pleasure all together. The event began by offering a beautiful prayer to lord Krishna through Shri Krishna Aarti. After the ritualistic prayer, all gatherers receive Panchamrit .Ahead of this occasion, “Dahi-Handi” and “Ras-Garba” were organized. The most noteworthy event of the occasion was “Dahi-Handi”. A group of students made a human pyramid to get the handi and break it . Furthermore ,all the faculty members and students did ras garba with mirth and joy.
