GTU-GSET STUDENTS ATTENDED NATIONAL EVENT 'RISING WITH KINDNESS' YOUTH SUMMIT AT KANHA SHANTI VANAM

GTU-GSET students got the opportunity to be the part of the National event between 12th August to 14th August 2022 :


Heartfulness in association with AICTE and UNESCO Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) as its knowledge partner is bringing forth the International ‘Rising with Kindness’ Youth Summit at Kanha Shanti Vanam – Heartfulness, Hyderabad between 12th-14th August 2022. GTU students got privileged being part of such event. About 40 Delegates from the various department of GTU such as GSET, GSMS, GSP, GPERI, SAST got opportunity to be part of national event.

The event organized in with the goal to help the youth delegates aged between 18 and 35 develop a ‘Kindness Statement’.


The three-day event comprised Experiential-Cerebral-Heartful modes of programme that include workshops by UNESCO MGIEP on Self-directed Emotional Learning for Empathy and Kindness (SEEK)as well as Social and Emotional Learning for Youth Waging Peace, Plantation, Yoga+Meditation, Heartful Communication, Green & Blue Innovation Breakouts, Youth Project Showcase, Keynote talks, Musical Interludes and Kindness Concert.


The purpose of the conference, "Rising with Kindness," is to promote acts of kindness for oneself, society, and the environment. Through yoga, meditation, and interfaith discussions, it is also intended to promote awareness of Indian culture and heritage. It also promotes sustainable development by allowing participants to connect with other young leaders and take advantage of additional opportunities provided by Heartfulness and the UNESCO MGIEP.

Three focus verticals are present at the event:

1) Inspiration for one's own well-being comes from inside

2) Society: the chance to connect with other young people who share similar interests; this fosters communicative leadership, social entrepreneurship, and empathy.

3)Nature: The circular economy, zero waste, eco-brick, and climate activism all work to encourage kindness toward environment.


Speaking about the conference, Shri Kamlesh Patel ‘Daaji’ – Guide of Heartfulness said, “Kindness does not always mean empathizing with the weak. Kindness has many layers to it. One must be kind to oneself just as much as one must be kind to others.


All delegates offered certificates of participation issued by the Heartfulness Institute.


As a part of azadi ka amrut mahotsav, students of GSET has hoisted the tricolour on the highest peak of Kanha Shanti Vanam named "Pearl Mount".
